HANNOVER, April 7 (Itar-Tass) - Russia is open to mutually advantageous cooperation, and its participation in Hannover Messe is designed to demonstrate this, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the ceremony to open the world’s biggest industrial fair on Sunday.
“Our large-scale exposition here, at Hannover Messe, is one of the most important events of the Russian-German cross-year,” he stressed. “That gave us a possibility to demonstrate the present day and the future of Russia’s industry and science, confirm our intention to closely cooperate with German and other partners,” Putin stressed. Leaders of 160 Russian companies and scientific-research institutions have arrived in Hannover, and most economic sectors are presented - from the fuel-and-energy and machinery manufacturing sectors to nano-industry and biotechnologies.
“I am confident that Russia’s participation as the main partner country of the fair will give a powerful impetus to contacts between Russian and German entrepreneurs, will encourage new promising joint projects,” he said. “I want to emphasize once again - Russia is open to mutually advantageous cooperation,” the president stressed. “We will certainly achieve new success if we work together,” he added.
Gazprom, Rosneft, Russian Railways, Rosnano, Rostekhnologii, Skolkovo, Uralvagonzavod are among the participants in the Russian exposition. They will present achievements in different spheres of industry, power economy, energy and resource saving technologies, transport, ecology and state-of-the-art materials.
Accent will be put on investment attractiveness of Russian regions, as the exhibition will feature such industrial centers as Moscow and St. Petersburg, the Moscow, Leningrad, Kaluga, Sverdlovsk, Novosibirsk, Nizhny Novgorod and Tomsk regions, as well as the republic of Tatarstan.
Dennis Manturov, the Russian Minister of Commerce and Industry, said earlier “We have organized a common stand on an area of 4,500 square meters. The state spent 49.5 million rubles on this event. However, the commercial firms that will participate in the show have also acted as sponsors,” Manturov explained.
Russian and foreign companies are expected to sign several agreements during the Hannover Fair. For example, the Uralvagonzavod plant that produces wagons in the Urals will strike a deal with Canadian Bombardier holdings for joint production of new trams for the Russian capital.
