MOSCOW, April 5 (Itar-Tass) – Police found a cache with arms and an explosive device not far from the town of Baksan in Kabardino-Balkaria. The bomb, the power of which was equivalent to 500 grams of TNT, was destroyed on the spot. ITAR-TAS learnt this at the regional Interior Ministry.
“Baksan police and officers of the Russian Federal Security Service Department for the republic found the cache on the eastern outskirts of Baksan, 500 meters from a major residential area the town,” the ministry’s spokesman said.
According to the source, the bomb was destroyed on the spot because its transportation was dangerous. Apart from the explosive device, the cache contained a pistol, RGN and F-1 grenades, as well as 200 pieces of ammunition.
“An investigation team is working at the site of the incident, measures are being taken to establish the owners of the cache,” the source said.
