North Korean deputies vote for large-scale economic reform

The session removed Prime Minister Choe Yong-rim from his post of cabinet head and elected Pak Pong-ju as a new premier

PYONGYANG, April 1 (Itar-Tass) – Deputies of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (parliament) held on Monday approved a resolution on consolidation of DPRK’s stance as of a country that possesses nuclear weapons. They passed a law creation of a State Space Administration and voted for amending the country’s constitution.

The North Korean lawmakers approved the 2013 draft budget and said they were determined to adopt measures aimed at large-scale economic reforms in the interests of improving people’s living standards.

The session removed Prime Minister Choe Yong-rim from his post of cabinet head and elected Pak Pong-ju as a new premier.

Choe Yong-rim was elected honorary vice-president of the presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
