KEMEROVO, March 28 (Itar-Tass) – The investigating authorities in the Kemerovo Region have opened a criminal case over the death of a miner in the Osinnikovskaya mine, senior aide of the investigation department, press officer Nadezhda Ananyeva told Itar-Tass on Thursday.
The criminal case will be investigated under Article 216, part 2 of the RF Criminal Code – “violation of safety rules in mining, construction or other works, resulting in the death of a person by negligence.” “At this time the body of the miner is being lifted to the surface. The identification procedure will be held,” she said.
On March 26, due to the flooding of a mine course 139 miners were evacuated. Three people were injured. One miner was killed, the fate of another three miners remains unknown.
