Moscow Town Hall allows Opposition to hold rally on April 6

The rally will be held at the initiative of the Coordinating Council of the Opposition in support of political prisoners

MOSCOW, March 26 (Itar-Tass) – Moscow Town Hall allowed the Opposition to hold a rally on April 6, an organizer of the protest action told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.

"The rally will take place in Novopushkinsky Square from 14:00 till 17:00, on April 6," Yevgenia Tretyakova said.

The information was confirmed by director of Town Hall's department for regional security Alexei Maiyorov. "A notice has been signed for a rally in Pushkin Square; we suggested to the organizers that the action be held in Novopushkinsky Square," he said. The organizers said the rally would gather up to 1,000 people.

The rally will be held at the initiative of the Coordinating Council of the Opposition in support of those who are regarded as political prisoners, in the first place the persons arraigned in the case over riots in Moscow's Bolotnaya Square on May 6, 2012.
