Former military academy official suspected of stealing 10 million roubles

Part of the bonuses for the civilian personnel was remitted to former chief of the military space academy branch Yevgeny Maslenkin

MOSCOW, March 26 (Itar-Tass) – The former director of a branch of the Kubinka military space academy is suspected of stealing ten million roubles from 500 staff, the press service of the main military prosecutor's office told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.

"A check by military prosecutors into the legitimacy of payments to the civilian personnel ascertained that part of the bonuses was withheld allegedly for the needs of the academy, but in actual fact, the money was remitted to former chief of the academy branch Yevgeny Maslenkin. In all, he stole some 10 million roubles by cheating 500 personnel," the press service said.

Criminal proceedings against Maslenkin were opened under Article 159, Part 4 /grand fraud/.
