MOSCOW, March 25 (Itar-Tass) – Military prosecutors have detected a scheme of massive budget fund embezzlement in supplies of special equipment to the Air and Space Defence Troops under a state contract.
Damage done to the state as a result of the embezzlement is estimated at more than 30 million roubles, a source at the Main Russian Prosecutor's Office told Itar-Tass on Monday.
According to the source, the military prosecutor's office of the troops has discovered a corruption scheme of massive embezzlement of budget funds when the state contract was carried out to supply special equipment to the Air and Space Defence Troops. The prosecutors established that 18 months ago some articles were supplied to a test centre as new ones, but they did not meet the contract terms. The supplied equipment had signs of repair and parts that were produced more than 20 years ago.
In this connection, a criminal case is opened on charges of massive fraud. The investigation is underway.
