MOSCOW, March 24 (Itar-Tass) – Moscow will consider an address from the relatives of Boris Berezovsky over his possible burial in Russia, if such request is made, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said live on the television channel Dozhd, noting that he is unaware of an exact procedure in this concrete situation.
“If such address is made, but at first let’s wait for such address to be made, to whom it will be made and how it will be made, then probably Moscow will take a decision on the issue,” Peskov said.
In reply to a journalist’s question Peskov also commented on the news reports over a letter, which Berezovsky sent to Russian President Vladimir Putin some time ago with the acknowledgement of his mistakes and a request to permit to him to return to the homeland. In particular, Peskov noted that this letter was passed “through personal channels.”
Speaking on the activities of Berezovsky in general, the Russian presidential spokesman noted that he is unaware about any concrete actions of the self-exiled businessman that were targeted personally against Putin.
“I can speak only about the facts, it is reliably clear that he did not spare the money to support the processes inside Russia and other countries, which can be called targeted against Russia and Putin,” Peskov said.
“It is also obvious that he had made quite harsh statements, in which he said that he intends to fight against Putin,” he added. “It can be drawn from his personal statements that he was an opponent to Putin not only in political, but also other dimensions,” the presidential spokesman said.
Peskov noted that Berezovsky’s statements were unconstructive most frequently.
“There is an ignorant attitude to such criticism, absolutely tough and uncompromising, not targeted at any result, but only at an indirect declaration of war. This is an unconstructive criticism, this is the criticism of a powerless enemy,” the Russian presidential spokesman underlined.
