MOSCOW, March 24 (Itar-Tass) - Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill will on Sunday lead a service at Mocow’s Cathedral of Christ the Savior in honor of the Truimph of Orthodoxy feast. It is traditionally celebrated on the first Sunday of the Great Lent to commemorate all men and women of faith whose work and prayers contributed to the spread of Orthodox Christianity. They include both ecumenical and Russian Saints such as Grand Prince Vladimir who baptized Russia; his grandmother Princess Olga, Prince Alexander Nevsky, Partriarch Tikhon and new Russian martyrs. Their names will be proclaimed during a special ritual called the Truimph of Orthodoxy.
As usual, the church service will be attended by diplomats from countries of the Orthodox tradition as well as representatives of Orthodox Churches of the world which have their missions in Moscow.
