MOSCOW, March 20 (Itar-Tass) – The Russian Foreign Ministry invites Russian psychiatrists to go to Cambodia for a medical examination of arrested businessman Sergei Polonsky and the latter guarantees the payment for their trip in the country, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a posting, which is made on the official webpage of the Russian Foreign Ministry and the Facebook network on Wednesday.
“Despite the explanations given to Sergei Polonsky, who is being kept under arrest in Cambodia, the Russian Foreign Ministry does not certify psychiatrists, the ministry continues to insist on a specialist to be assigned to him from Russia and refuses from the services of foreign medics,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in the statement.
In this respect, the Russian Foreign Ministry invites Russian doctors of appropriate specialization to go to Cambodia for a medical examination of Polonsky, he guarantees the payment of all expenses for a trip.
“It is possible to get in touch with Sergei Yuryevich and enrol as a volunteer though “Polonsky’s headquarters” in the social networks: Facebook and Livejournal,” the ministry stated.
Meanwhile, the Russian Foreign Ministry is ready to help a Russian doctor, who will agree to examine Polonsky and will receive the consent from the businessman for this medical examination, to process the documents required for a trip. “We confirm the intentions again that we will continue to give all possible assistance to the Russian citizen to protect his rights,” the Russian Foreign Ministry pledged.
The diplomats wished “health, optimism and a high spirit” to Sergei Polonsky.
