YEKATERINBURG, March 14 (Itar-Tass) – The leadership of the search-and-rescue formation in the Central Military District has made a proposal to the Mission Control Centre in the Moscow regional town Korolev to delay the landing of the spaceship Soyuz TMA-06M for a day over the bad weather in the landing zone.
“The highest humidity level is reported at the town Arkalyk, nonstop rain is going on, the air temperature is about zero degrees Celsius, the wind speed is 5–7 metres per second,” the press service of the Central Military District told Itar-Tass on Thursday.
“The bad weather complicated the operation of the military aviation, the rescue teams cannot go to the main and reserve landing zones of the spaceship. The decision to delay the landing of the spaceship Soyuz TMA-06M will be taken within a few hours,” the press service said.
Meanwhile, the Moscow regional Mission Control Centre confirmed to Itar-Tass that this proposal was made now and is being considered.
The landing of the descent capsule with the ISS crew is to take place overnight to Friday near the town Arkalyk, Kazakhstan.
