NOVOSIBIRSK, March 10 (Itar-Tass) – The Novosibirsk region has lifted the traffic limitations for buses and cars along federal highways, which was implemented a day earlier due to heavy snowfalls and snowdrifts, the regional branch of Russia’s EMERCOM reported on Sunday.
However, heavy snowfalls in the region continue. At local roads, specialised vehicles can barely remove the snow, thus several jams remain there. In one of the districts, 90 vehicles are blocked, and in another one – 14. At the K-19R highway, 20 heavy trucks and 50 cars remain motionless.
Neighbouring villages have facilities for drivers to have food and rest while waiting for roads to be opened. The emergency services transport there oil, diesel and food.
