MAKHACHKALA, March 10 (Itar-Tass) – Two gunmen were killed in an exchange of fire with the police in the settlement of Mutsalaul in Russia’s North Caucasian republic of Dagestan on Saturday, a spokesman for the republican interior ministry told Itar-Tass.

According to the spokesman, the incident took place at about 19:20 Moscow time, when the police were holding a search operation. Unidentified gunmen opened gunfire at the policemen, who killed two of them. Their identity is being established. No information about the number of gunmen is available.
