North Korea denounces strongly, rejects new UN SC resolution

Pyongyang believes that this document, which imposes broader sanctions against the people’s republic, "was approved under the pressure from the United States"

PYONGYANG, March 9 (Itar-Tass) – North Korea “does not recognize a new resolution, which the UN Security Council approved in retaliation to an underground nuclear test in the country last February,” a spokesman of the North Korean Foreign Ministry said in a statement, which the news agency KCNA has made public on Saturday.

Pyongyang believes that this document, which imposes broader sanctions against the people’s republic, “was approved under the pressure from the United States, which uses the UN Security Council for fulfilling its hostile policy towards North Korea.” The final goal of this policy, “which is aimed at the disarmament of North Korea and the economic stifling of the country, is to liquidate the ideology and the system, which the North Korean people chose,” the diplomat said.

“North Korea condemns strongly and refutes the UN Security Council resolution, which resulted from the US hostile policy towards Pyongyang,” the North Korean Foreign Ministry said in the statement.
