MOSCOW, March 5 (Itar-Tass) – Over 100 Russian citizens wish to serve as contract soldiers at the 7th Russian military base in Abkhazia, chief of the Southern Military District’s press service, Colonel Igor Gorbul told Itar-Tass.
“Till the end of 2013 the number of servicemen will triple. The total number of the personnel will remain unchanged,” Gorbul said.
According to the Russian Defence Ministry, about 3,500 people service at the 7th Russian military base in Abkhazia.
