Suspected attacker of Bolshoi Theatre artistic director Sergei Filin detained

Moscow police brought one of the suspects for questioning on Tuesday

MOSCOW, March 5 (Itar-Tass) - Law-enforcement agents detained a suspected attacker of Bolshoi Theatre artistic director Sergei Filin, city police told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.

"During the investigation into the attack on Sergei Filin, Moscow police brought one of the suspects for questioning on Tuesday. The necessary investigative activities are underway," a city police representative told Itar-Tass.

Subsequent reports said police were searching the suspect's apartment.

Sergei Filin, 42, was attacked near his house in Troitskaya Street in Moscow in the evening of January 17. An unidentified person splashed caustic liquid in his face and fled. Filin was hospitalized with serious face and eye burns. He was initially treated in a Moscow hospital and is now taking treatment in Germany.
