MOSCOW, March 4 (Itar-Tass) – The U.S. missile defence plans seriously undermine Russia’s security, said Wu Huoniu, member of the Council of the Chinese People’s Association for Peace and Disarmament.
Speaking at a press conference at the Itar-Tass news agency on Monday, Wu said, “It is obvious that we uphold universal nuclear disarmament.”
“By realising a ‘nuclear neutral’ idea it is necessary to ensure security of all states, without any exception,” the Chinese official stressed.
“The deployment of U.S. missile defence seriously undermines Russia’s security. Such plans complicate disarmament. The world free of nuclear arms is our common priority. But it will be difficult to achieve this goal. It will take much time,” he said.
Secretary-General of the All India Peace and Solidarity Organisation Nilotpal Basu shared the Chinese official’s view. “Our world is multi-polar and none can dictate terms to anyone,” he said.
