MOSCOW, March 3 (Itar-Tass) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Vyacheslav Zaitsev on the 75th anniversary, the Kremlin website said on Saturday.
A bright and talented artist and a daring innovator, Zaitsev has done much for the development of modern applied art and broke the habitual notions of design and fashion, the telegramme noted.
With his great work capacity and devotion to the work and of course the impeccable sense of style, he has earned worldwide recognition and unquestioned authority among professionals. Every fashion show of the couturier becomes a significant event and a festival of creative work, talent and beauty, the president noted.
Putin wished Zaitsev inspiration, successes, good health and all the best.
The People's Artist of the Russian Federation marked his 75th anniversary with a gala night in the State Central Concert Hall "Rossiya" in Moscow on Saturday. The show "75 Years of Joy of Life" was a kind of a creative report of the master to his admirers. In the programme were a gala show, in which he presented some works from his fashion collections reflecting the master's creative way from 1985 to 2013. For many of them, he received state awards and prizes of other countries.
After the graduate from the Textile Institute presented his first models of clothes, the world recognized him as Soviet "Dior", ranking him among the world's leading couturiers. The foreign public admired his works.
Zaitsev is a member of the Russian Academy of Arts, People's Artist of Russia, Doctor of Arts and a professor. He was awarded state prizes and a presidential prize.
