MOSCOW, February 28 (Itar-Tass) – Libya would like to open a new page in relations with Russia, the leader of the National Forces Alliance, Mahmoud Jibril, told a news conference in Moscow on Thursday.
He said he had met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Wednesday to discuss “the history of bilateral relations” and how “a new page in the two countries’ interaction that would bring former warmth can be opened.”
Jibril said the meeting in particular focused on fast return of the Russian companies that had signed contracts before the revolution of February 17 to Libya’s economy.
“We also considered Russia’s future investments. I will try to report everything what we’d discussed to the Libyan government,” he said.
