MOSCOW, February 27 (Itar-Tass) – Moscow is prepared to call a conference on Syrian refugees and is currently engaged in negotiations on this issue, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said.
“We are ready to work with our partners, with those who are interested to solve this problem,” he told Itar-Tass on Wednesday, February 27.
“It has been suggested that such an international forum for humanitarian aid to Syrian refugees and displaced persons could also be held in Russia,” he added.
According to Bogdanov, the problem of Syrian refugees affects neighbouring countries: Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey.
Asked about when such a conference could be convened, the diplomat said “contacts are underway.”
