MOSCOW, February 27 (Itar-Tass) - The persons injured in the Domodedovo airport bombing in January 2012 are seeking to sue the officials who have been investigating transport safety violations, lawyer Igor Trunov, who represents injured parties, told Itar-Tass.
"Five injured parties flied a statement with the Investigative Committee asking to open a criminal case against the officials who have been investigating violations of transport safety requirements, which led to numerous casualties," Trunov said.
The investigators have not found a single suspect in two years. "We're demanding a proper check into the facts mentioned in the statement and a proper evaluation of the officials' actions, and also a criminal case against them under Article 300 "illegal exemption from criminal responsibility, Article 316 "concealing a crime," Article 285 "use of office powers by official contrary to the interests of service, and Article 293 "negligence," the lawyer said.
At present, the Moscow region court is reviewing a case against brothers Islam and Ilez Yandiyev, Akhmed Yevloyev and Bashir Khamkhoyev. They are accused of terrorist attack, murder, attempted murder, illegal acquisition, carrying and keeping of firearms, ammunition, and explosives and illegal making of bombs.
The investigators said Magomed Yevloyev, who was a minor, set off a homemade bomb with a yield of up to five kilos of TNT in the arrivals hall of the Domodedovo airport, killing 37 and injuring another 172 people.
Four persons helped Yevloeyv to travel from Ingushetia to Moscow. They rented an apartment for him, handed over the bomb to him and sent him to the scene of the terrorist attack in a taxi.
