MOSCOW, February 26 (Itar-Tass) – The Russian Defense Ministry has confirmed that an incident occurred at a Russian Air Force base near Voronezh on Monday night.
“Duty officers discovered smoke contamination in the territory of a military unit and called in fire crews that quickly suppressed the smoke,” the Russian Defense Ministry reports.
Earlier, an army source told Itar-Tass that boxes with insensitive munitions went ablaze at the Baltimore military airfield in Voronezh at 22:05 Moscow time on Monday. The blaze spread to an area of 70 square meters. It took 32 minutes to extinguish the fire.
