MOSCOW, February 21 (Itar-Tass) - Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday discussed inter-ethnic relations with Magomedsalam Magomedov, the Kremlin administration deputy chief, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
“The president held a working meeting with the Kremlin administration deputy chief Magomedov who informed him of his plans of work in the sphere of inter-ethnic relations, including the implementation of tasks outlined at a meeting of the presidential Council for Inter-Ethnic Relations,” Peskov stressed.
Late in January, Magomedsalam Magomedov, the former president of Dagestan, terminated his presidential powers and was appointed Kremlin deputy administration chief who will be in charge of department for international relations which will function under the president’s internal policy directorate, Peskov reported earlier in January.
Magomedov’s duties will include supervision over the Council for Inter-Ethnic Relations and preparation of appropriate decisions and documents. Besides, he will also oversee the work of the Public Chamber on questions of inter-ethnic relations.
On January 28, Vladimir Putin signed a decree appointing Ramazan Abdulatipov, the former State Duma deputy, acting president of Dagestan.
