MOSCOW, February 17 (Itar-Tass) – The tanker Marine Alliance is dead in the water in the Sea of Japan (the East Sea) on Sunday.

“The tanker bound for Nakhodka is dead in the water over the failure of the main engine,” the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations told Itar-Tass on Sunday. The tanker was trafficking 782 tonnes of fuel oil. The tanker has a crew of 20 Russian citizens.

The tanker was not damaged. “The tanker Georgiy Froyer is on the way to the tanker in distress and will tow her,” a source in the Ministry of Emergency Situations said. The Georgiy Froyer is about to get to the tanker in distress at 18:00 Moscow time on Sunday.
