CHELYABINSK, February 16 (Itar-Tass) - An EMERCOM plane with a severely injured woman aboard flew out from Chelyabinsk for Moscow. The plane took off at 08:00 Moscow time.
The woman was severely injured as a result of the meteorite fragments fall. She suffers a spinal compression fracture. The woman will continue the treatment in Moscow, chief physician of the Centrospas medical group Igor Yakirevich said.
The patient was successfully transferred from a vehicle of the Disaster Medicine service to the medical module aboard the plane and connected to the medical equipment, he said.
Centrospas doctors accompany the patient on the flight, and her female relative is under the care of an EMERCOM psychologist.
As was earlier reported, a special EMERCOM plane was sent to Chelyabinsk to airlift people who were injured by the fall of meteorite fragments to Moscow clinics.
An Emergencies Ministry Il-76 plane with special medical equipment to carry seriously injured people flew out from Ramenskoye airport located near Moscow for Chelyabinsk at 02:25 Moscow time on Saturday. Aboard were a group of doctors from the Centrospas centre and a psychologist of the Emergencies Ministry's special psychological centre.
In accordance with the Russian president's directions, Russian Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov and a government commission are in Chelyabinsk.
