Iran nuke fuel rod plant controlled by IAEA - Salehi

“We have no taken any action that would violate the NPT,” said Salehi

MOSCOW, February 12 (Itar-Tass) – The plant for the production of fuel rods for Tehran’s research reactor is fully controlled by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi who is in Moscow on a visit, said on Tuesday.

“The IAEA is in the know, this is not news,” he said, commenting on the information that Iran has produced nuclear fuel from enriched uranium.

“We have no taken any action that would violate the NPT,” said Salehi. “The plant that produces fuel rods operates entirely under the control of the IAEA. Our Tehran reactor that produces medical supplies makes them itself.”
