MOSCOW, February 10 (Itar-Tass) – Six people have been covered by a snow avalanche in Russia’s northern Murmansk region, a source at the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations told Itar-Tass on Sunday.
Reports that an avalanche went down on the Aikkuaivenchor Mountain in the Kirov district of the Murmansk region came at 23:44 Moscow time on Saturday. A group of six tourists was trapped under the snow,” the source went on to say.
A search and rescue operation is under way.
