Kazakh president hopes to sign new Friendship Treaty with Russia

Earlier, the Russian and Kazakh leaders agreed to hold the annual forum of border regions in Yekaterinburg

MOSCOW, February 8 (Itar-Tass) – Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev plans to sign a new Friendship and Cooperation Treaty with Russia in Yekaterinburg, the Urals, in autumn this year.

“We have issued instructions to prepare a new Treaty for Friendship and Cooperation. I hope we will sign it in Yekaterinburg this autumn,” Nazarbayev said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday.

Earlier, the Russian and Kazakh leaders agreed to hold the annual forum of border regions in Yekaterinburg. The gathering is traditionally attended by the presidents of Russia and Kazakhstan.
