Iranian FM to visit RF to take part in inter-govt commission

Salehi will give a speech at the 10th session of the Russian-Iranian inter-governmental commission

TEHRAN, February 4 (Itar-Tass) – Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi will visit Russia to take part in the inter-governmental commission scheduled for February 11-12, the Mehr News Agency reported on Monday.

Salehi will give a speech at the 10th session of the Russian-Iranian inter-governmental commission. Russia will be represented by Energy Minister Alexander Novak.

During the session, experts of both countries are expected to discuss the implementation of the earlier signed agreements.

The 9th session of the Russian-Iranian commission took place in Iran on September 11, 2011.

Within the commission five working groups for contributing to the development of trade, for energy, for transport, for space and for water services operate on a permanent basis.

Energy cooperation is one of the priorities now. In the course of former Iranian Oil Minister Masould Mir Kazemi’s visit to Moscow in 2010, Iran and Russia signed a roadmap on energy cooperation in the nearest 30 years. It envisions the exchange of technology and experience in such areas as oil and gas, hydrocarbon processing, offshore exploration and the development of oil and gas fields.
