MAKHACHKALA, February 2 (Itar-Tass) – In Dagestan’s Tabasaransky District, the police have been blocking the house of a member of the Yuzhnaya terror group. The criminal was shooting at the police, and then disappeared.
The republic’s Interior Ministry told Itar-Tass the police had been blocking the house of a local resident, born in 1977, who “was on the federal wanted list for attempts on life of law enforcers, robbery, illegal possession and carrying of weapons and extortion of money from businessmen.”
The police report no victims or injured as they opened fire in response. The law enforcers confiscated from the scene three mobile phones and the criminal’s jacket.
A criminal proceeding has been initiated. The investigation is underway.
