VOLGOGRAD, January 30 (Itar-Tass) – The programme of celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Stalingrad Battle will begin on Thursday with a Ball of Winners.
The city’s administration told Itar-Tass the Ball will be organised at the municipal music theatre. The event will feature 320 veterans of the battle, those who worked in the rear and members of Children of Stalingrad organisation.
The local youth committee of the city government said “volunteers from Russia’s 27 regions will meet and escort Volgograd’s guests at all events, devoted to the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Stalingrad Battle, which will continue to February 2.”
