MOSCOW, January 30 (Itar-Tass) – The Investigative Committee of Russia asks to strip State Duma lower house of parliament’s deputy Vadim Bulavinov of immunity, its spokesman Vladimir Markin told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.
Bulavinov from the Untied Russia Party is suspected of abuse of power during his time as head of the Nizhny Novgorod administration, as a result of which the state budget received 600 million roubles less than it was due from the construction of a shopping mall.
The Investigative Committee has sent documents to the General Prosecutor’s Office that are necessary to make a submission to the State Duma to strip the deputy of immunity, as well as to get the office’s consent for instituting criminal proceedings against him, Markin said.
