A counter-terrorism operation regime was imposed in Kabardino-Balkaria on Friday morning

NALCHIK, January 25 (Itar-Tass) — Two gunmen have been blocked in a private dwelling house in the town of Chegem in Russia’s North Caucasian republic of Kabardino-Balkaria, where a counter-terrorism operation regime was imposed on Friday morning, a spokesman for the operation headquarters told Itar-Tas.

“The decision to impose the counter-terrorism operation regime was taken by chief of the republican department of the Russian Federal Security Service, Sergei Kmenny, in order to prevent acts of terror, to ensure security of people, organizations and institutions, to search and detain members of militant groups,” the spokesman said.

A number of special measures and temporary restrictions will be in force until the counter-terrorism operation regime is lifted.
