MOSCOW, January 24 (Itar-Tass) — A suspected killer of Boris Zherukov, the rector of the Agricultural Academy of Kabardino-Balkaria, was killed in the detention operation, spokesman for the Russian Investigation Committee Vladimir Markin told Itar-Tass on Thursday.
The police of Kabardino-Balkaria have detected the whereabouts of a suspected killer Mir-Zurab Asadulagi, 29, back on January 20, in Kalmykov Street in Nalchik. Asadulagi “put up armed resistance and was destroyed in the retaliatory fire,” Markin said.
“The detectives found that being a native and resident of Nartkaly in the Russian Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria Asadulagi joined the illegal armed units and left his home,” Markin said. “The criminal case was opened over the armed resistance to the law enforcers under Article 317 and Article 222 of the Criminal Code for an attempt on the life of the law enforcers and the illegal circulation of weapons,” he said.
Rector of the Kokov State Agricultural Academy in Kabardino-Balkaria Boris Zherukov, 54, was killed on December 25 in Nalchik. Two killers entered his office and have made two gunshots in his head from a 9-mm pistol.
From 2005 he has headed the United Russia faction in the republican parliament.
The law enforcement agencies of Kabardino-Balkaria have earlier announced a major reward for the information about the killers of rector of the republican Agricultural Academy Boris Zherukov and TV reporter Kazbek Gekkiyev.
