MOSCOW, January 24 (Itar-Tass) – Twelve gunmen were destroyed in a special operation in the highlands in the Russian Republic of Chechnya. “Two Gakayev brothers, who were on the federal wanted list for involvement in the terrorist acts and the murders of law enforcers and civilians, were destroyed,” the press centre of the Russian Interior Ministry told Itar-Tass on Thursday.
In the shootout a policeman was killed, seven law enforcers, including five Chechen policemen and two servicemen of the Russian Interior Troops were wounded.
