NOVO-OGARYOVO, January 23 (Itar-Tass) — Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that Russia will be prepared to arrange for an international conference on the problem of Syrian refugees in Moscow.
At a meeting with the Russian head of state Lebanese President Michel Suleiman asked Russia to host an international conference that would discuss the problems of refugees from Syria with the aim to help countries that accommodate such refugees.
“We shall do our utmost to implement your proposals. We shall work for holding an international conference,” Putin said. At the same time he suggested taking joint action along these lines.
“If the countries concerned agree with this, we shall be prepared to suggest Moscow as the venue,” Putin said.
