DAVOS, January 23 (Itar-Tass) — Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev finds any rivalry with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the presidential elections in 2018 wrong and impossible, Medvedev said in an interview with the television channel Bloomberg in reply to the question, whether the rivalry between the members of the ruling tandem is possible at next presidential elections.
“I believe that this would be wrong, this would be impossible, as we belong to one political force, so why we will compete,” Medvedev said.
Speaking on his participation in the Russian presidential elections due in 2018 Medvedev already traditionally avoided the direct answer. “Let’s wait and see. I have never refused from anything. I am not going to do so in an interview with you, but I like my work,” the prime minister said. “I should finalize this part of work and live this part of my life,” he noted.
“Let’s wait and see what will be in the future. I still have enough strength to work,” the premier went on to say. “All the rest will depend from my decision and from the political fate of those forces, which are vested with state powers now,” Medvedev said in conclusion.
