Fire localized at gas cylinder explosion site in RF Krasnoyarsk

The fire engulfed an area of 300 square meters

KRASNOYARSK, January 22 (Itar-Tass) — The fire at the site where a gas cylinder exploded in the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk has been localized. This took rescuers 40 minutes to localize it. According to early reports, nobody was killed in the explosion, but seven people were injured.

Six of them are in a grave condition, sources from the press service of the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations’ regional department have said.

The explosion triggering a fire occurred in a service facility where gas cylinders are installed on Akademika Vavilova Street at 18:08 local time (14:08 Moscow time). The fire engulfed an area of 300 square meters.

Rescue services and police were rushed to the scene. The neighborhood is cordoned off, and firefighting efforts continue.
