MOSCOW, January 19 (Itar-Tass) - About 165,000 people participated in Epiphany celebration in Moscow on the night to January 19, a source at the press service of the Interior Ministry’s city department told Itar-Tass. Last year, celebration participants numbered 120,000.
According to the source, 3,500 Moscow policemen and members of voluntary public order squads ensured public order and security for citizens.
There were no serious incidents. Three people were detained for appearing in a drunken state at public celebration places.
