Six killed, two injured in car crash in Volgograd region

An investigation is underway

VOLGOGRAD, January 18 (Itar-Tass) – Six people were killed and two were injured in a car crash on the highway linking the Russian cities of Volgograd and Saratov, a spokesman for the Volgograd department of the Russian emergencies ministry told Itar-Tass on Friday.

According to the spokesman, the accident took place at about 16:30 Moscow time near the administrative borders between the Volgograd and Saratov regions. “According to preliminary data, a Daewoo Nexia car went off its lane and rammed a VAZ32105 vehicle moving in the opposite direction,” he said.

An investigation is underway.
