Criminal case opened over Supreme Court judge murder

The investigation considers the judge’s professional activity as the main version behind the crime

MAKHACHKALA, January 16 (Itar-Tass) — The investigation authorities have opened a criminal case over the murder in Makhachkala of Judge of the Supreme Court of Dagestan Magomed Magomedov under two articles of the RF Criminal Code: “encroachment on the life of a person administering justice” and “illegal turnover of arms and ammunition,” an official of the republican Investigation Department of the RF Investigating Committee (SK) told Itar-Tass.

According to the investigation, “At about 21:00 MSK on Tuesday at the intersection of Nuradilov and Gorky Streets and unknown person opened fire, presumably from a pistol, on the judge – member of the Presidium of the Supreme Court of the republic Magomed Magomedov who died from gunshot wounds on the spot.”

The investigation considers the judge’s professional activity as the main version behind the murder.
