Rescuers found one body buried under rubble of house in Chuvashia

A group of 150 rescuers and 28 vehicles are working on the site of the accident

CHEBOKSARY, January 15 (Itar-Tass) — Rescuers have taken one body from under the rubble of an apartment building in the Chuvash Republic, where a domestic gas tank exploded on Tuesday, the regional investigative department told Itar-Tass.

The body is being identified.

Earlier rescuers found one survivor under the rubble, a spokesman for the investigative department, Oleg Dmitriyev, said. He was hospitalized with fractured ribs.

The search for another man reported missing is underway.

A domestic gas explosion occurred in a three storey apartment building in the village of Tuvsi, the Tsivilsky district, at 05:40 Moscow time.

According to the Emergencies Ministries, three people were trapped under the rubble.

Six others were slightly injured.

A group of 150 rescuers and 28 vehicles are working on the site of the accident.

Forty-four tenants of the apartment building were accommodated in a school and a kindergarten. They receive necessary medical and psychological support.

The investigation is underway.
