MOSCOW, January 15 (Itar-Tass) — A gas explosion ripped through an apartment building in the Chuvash Republic, the Emergencies Ministry told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.

“A domestic gas explosion occurred in the village of Tuvsi, the Tsivilsky district, at 05:40 Moscow time,” the source said.

According to preliminary information, six people were saved.

“Two others may remain under the rubbles,” the source said.

A search and rescue operation is underway.
