Two people killed as bridge collapses in Russian Voronezh region

A tower crane that made repair work on the bridge in the Borisoglebsk district fell in between its slabs

VORONEZH, January 13 (Itar-Tass) – Two people were killed and two more were injured when a bridge across the Vorona River in Russia’s Voronezh region collapsed on Sunday, sources from the regional department of the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations reported.

A telephone call on the accident came to the rescue service at about 18:30 Moscow time. According to early reports, a tower crane that made repair work on the bridge in the Borisoglebsk district fell in between its slabs. Repair work on the bridge was routine one.

The regional investigative department looks into the incident.
