MOSCOW, January 10 (Itar-Tass) — The Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) is holding an extraordinary inspection in the air company Red Wings for its compliance with the flight and technical certification requirements after the air crash of the airliner Tu-204 at the Moscow airport Vnukovo, Rosaviatsiya told Itar-Tass on Thursday.
“The inspection is being held among additional measures to ensure the safety of flights by the airliners Tu-204/214,” a source in Rosaviatsiya said. “An extraordinary inspection is being held according to the federal aviation rules for the certification requirements to individuals, legal entities, which carry out commercial air deliveries and the certification procedure. The foresaid rules were adopted by the decree number 11 of the Russian Transport Ministry signed on February 4, 2003,” the source said.
Upon the results of the inspection “if the violations of the certification requirements are needed, it can be decided to annul, suspend or introduce requirements in the effect of the certificate of an operator of the foresaid air company.” The inspection is to end on January 16, 2013.
