Eight people injured in fire at residential house in Novokuznetsk

The investigation department of the Russian Investigation Committee is conducting a pre-investigation inquiry in the fire case

KEMEROVO, January 8 (Itar-Tass) — Two people were killed and eight people were wounded in the fire, which broke out at a residential house in Novokuznetsk, the regional investigation department of the Russian Investigation Committee said on Tuesday. The press service of the regional authorities reported about nine wounded people before.

The fire alarm call came at 04:14 Moscow time on Tuesday about the fire at the nine-storey residential house in Novokuznetsk. Twenty dwellers were evacuated. They were accommodated at the kindergarten.

The police will be watching the property of the dwellers left in their flats, regional police press officer Vladimir Sergeyev told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.

This police control will permit to rule out looting cases and will safeguard the property, he said. “The police supervision will continue, unless it is decided to lift the police monitoring,” he added.

The regional authorities will give the material aid to all wounded people and will repair four flats from regional and city budgets.

Governor Aman Tuleyev demanded the inspections should be held at the residential houses over the unauthorized instalment of the gas cylinders, as well as the residential houses and the agencies, which are provided with the gas supply. The special committee will inspect the condition of the entrance in the damage house for its rigidness.
