KEMEROVO, January 3 (Itar-Tass) — Kemerovo Region Governor Aman Tuleyev has invited for a holiday 100 children from the settlement of Khovy-Aksy in Siberia’s Tuva, where a heat station broke down on December 20, the governor’s press service reported on Thursday.

In a telegram sent to the prime minister of Tuva, the governor said children could arrive at any convenient for them time for a holiday at one of the best recreation centers in the region, “Sibirskaya Skazka”.

At the end of December, the Kemerovo region administration transferred one million roubles to Tuva for repairing the damage caused by the incident.

A total of 1,140 apartments with centralized heating have remained without heating as a result of a chain of breakdowns starting from December 20. About 3,000 local residents had to be evacuated as a result.

More than 400 people currently live at temporary accommodation stations. The other evacuated residents stay at their relatives in nearby settlements. An emergency situations regime has been imposed in the settlement, and repair work is underway there.
