The bill ultimately fixes the right of citizens to fish free of charges in shared water facilities

MOSCOW, December 31 (Itar-Tass) —— A bill on amateur fishing was submitted to the Russian State Duma lower parliament house on Monday, according to the Duma’s electronic database.

The bill ultimately fixes the right of citizens to fish free of charges in shared water facilities, except those allocated for paid amateur fishing (recreational fisheries). The overall area of the later shall not exceed ten percent of entire water funds in each of the Russian regions.

The bill also regulated a number of other issues related to amateur fishing.

The bill was approved at a meeting of the cabinet of minster on December 27. Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said the document was well-considered. “The main thing I want to say is that fishing, as a hobby or recreation, will be available and free of charge for all citizens,” he stressed.
