Soyuz rocket to be launched from Plesetsk early next year

MOSCOW, December 27 (Itar-Tass) — A light rocket, the Soyuz 2.1, is to be launched from Plesetsk early in 2013, Major-General Alexander Golovko, Commander of the Air and Space Defence Forces of the Russian Federation, told journalists on Thursday.

"Air and Space Defence Forces are ready for a launch of the light rocket Soyuz 2.1v from Plesetsk. We are awaiting the delivery of the rocket from the industry. The initial launch of the rocket is slated for the beginning of 2013," he said.
