ZARYA SETTLEMENT (Moscow region), December 24 (Itar-Tass) — Russia’s fifth generation fighter plane will be put into operational service in the Russian Air Force beginning in 2015, Air Force Commander-in-Chief, Lieutenant General Viktor Bondarev, told reporters on Monday.

“After the tests are completed in 2015, fifth generation planes will begin to be supplied to the Air Force,” Bondarev said, adding that advanced fifth generation jets “will substantially increase the combat effectiveness of front-line units.”
